CMS Inc receives FDA approval

CMS, Inc., an Elekta Company has received 510(k) clearance from U.S. FDA for its Atlas-Based Auto Segmentation (ABAS) product. ABAS is a software application that produces an estimate of the anatomy boundary contours needed to create a radiation treatment plan. CMS will soon begin distribution of ABAS for clinical use in the U.S.
Commenting on the occasion, Director of Research at CMS, Terry Wolf said, “We are extremely proud and very pleased to receive clearance to distribute Atlas-Based Auto Segmentation to the U.S. market.
