UltraSight Partners with Butterfly Network to Advance AI-Powered Guidance in Point-of-Care Ultrasound

Friday, June 28, 2024

Today, UltraSight, an innovator in digital health focused on advancing cardiac imaging with AI, announced its partnership with Butterfly Network, a leader in portable, semiconductor-based ultrasound technology.

UltraSight has joined Butterfly Garden, Butterfly's AI Marketplace, to enhance patient access to cardiac care by enabling more healthcare professionals to perform cardiac ultrasounds.

UltraSight aims to integrate its real-time AI guidance software with Butterfly's imaging platform, pending regulatory approvals.

This integration will support Butterfly's single-probe, whole-body handheld ultrasound system, enabling medical professionals, including those with no prior sonography experience, to capture diagnostic-quality cardiac images.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading global cause of death, responsible for an estimated 18 million deaths annually.

Significant delays in cardiac testing, caused by system inefficiencies and a shortage of expert sonographers, worsen this issue.

UltraSight's mission is to empower any medical professional to conduct echocardiographic examinations confidently, thereby increasing access to cardiac care and reducing patient wait times.

"Joining the Butterfly Garden is a pivotal step in our mission to revolutionize cardiac care." "By integrating our AI guidance software with Butterfly's advanced ultrasound technology, we aim to transform cardiac imaging.

This collaboration will enable healthcare professionals, regardless of their experience, to perform accurate and timely cardiac ultrasounds at the point of care, breaking down barriers in cardiac diagnostics."

"They are excited to partner with UltraSight to integrate their AI guidance software with Butterfly devices.

This partnership addresses the critical issue of sonographer shortages and other workforce challenges in healthcare. Together, we are committed to making high-quality ultrasound more efficient, effective, and accessible globally."

In August 2023, Butterfly Network launched Butterfly Garden, providing third-party developers access to its proprietary SDK and APIs to create new AI applications for Butterfly's imaging platform.

UltraSight's AI capabilities, which enable novice users to capture high-quality diagnostic images of the heart, make it a perfect fit for this program.

Upon receiving the necessary regulatory clearances, UltraSight's AI neural network will guide users by predicting the ultrasound probe's position relative to the heart, based on the ultrasound video stream, to ensure the capture of diagnostic-quality cardiac images.
